Frequently Asked Questions
A gestalt coach is a mental health professional who assists clients in growing into the best version of themselves. They provide support and accountability to clients who are seeking to move past a stuck point in their life.
Incredibly powerful CO-ACTIVE coaching method that empowers clients to find the answers that best suit their situation. The EGC Method holds clients capable and whole as the experts in their own lives.
Sometimes. In some cases, a client comes in with one really big pressing issue that is blocking them right now. In their case, it may only take one session to gain clarity and move forward. We always recommend at least one follow-up session via phone in these cases to solidify the clarity and provide extra support and encouragement.
Yes. Happy Hooves Oasis is open to anyone and everyone who feels they are in need of our services. We specialize in veterans, military, and families. If we feel that there is another coach who would be better suited for your particular situation, we will happily facilitate a referral to get the best results for YOU.
Life coaching is a side-by-side process to move a client into their own clarity and truth. The co-active process holds the truth that everyone who comes to a session is whole and has their own answers to life’s greatest questions just outside their awareness. As coaches, we encourage deep dives into all parts of self, good and bad, to come up with answers that best suit the client. Therapy is talk centered and assumes that the therapist has all of the answers a client needs to change their life. The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® is experiential in nature and the coach is simply a guide to unlocking the answers already within the client.
When is comes to horses, closed toed shoes are mandatory. Clients are not riding, so in warm weather, shorts are appropriate. In colder weather, dress in layers to your personal comfort level. Sessions with the horses are often 90 minutes outdoors. During the winter, gloves, hats, coats, etc., are highly encouraged. In the summer, closed toed shoes, shorts, and t-shirts are acceptable. Sunscreen is recommended along with a hat with a brim.
Phone and video conference coaching take place in the comfort of your own home. Equine coaching takes place outdoors at the barn. In extreme weather, a covered arena is available. Most of the coaching with the horses will take place in a private round pen away from the hustle of the main barn to ensure complete privacy.
No. The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® takes place with everyone’s feet on the ground and the horse at liberty in the round pen. The horse is a partner in the method and encouraged to show up in the best way they see fit, no halter, no lead rope, no saddle, or bridle.
No. The horse you work with will be one of the horses in our healing herd. If you have your own horse(s), your experience and partnership with them after a session may change and deepen.
No problem. A client can receive the same benefits standing inside the round pen with the horse as standing outside the round pen with the fence between them and the horse.
Everyone who books a session will receive an e-mail from Happy Hooves Oasis with instructions for their first session. We ask that you arrive 25-30 minutes early for your first session and come with an open heart and open mind. Wear closed toed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.
No. The beauty in the method is that no experience is necessary. If you are an experienced horse person, your relationships with them can deepen and improve after a session.
Yes. I offer 1-on-1 phone coaching in addition to or in lieu of a session with the horses.
